Neil Turner is an American anthropologist, author, and ethnographic filmmaker who has been living and conducting ethnographic work in Latin America. He has spent the last fifteen years living, working, and conducting ethnographic fieldwork in the country of Brazil. He is concerned with the ways in which anthropology may be pursued by means of visual techniques and cinematography. He is also committed to practice-based experimental ethnography and long-term immersion. This has involved an exploration into new forms and methods for ethnographic fieldwork.

Contemporary American religious life is experiencing a very profound crisis. On one hand, this crisis is characterized by a lack of clarity in vision, deficiency in discernment, and a tendency to fall back on personalistic and individualistic interpretations of moral law.
