Latin and Caribbean Anthropology is that portion of anthropological scholarship that specifically discusses the history of predominantly African, Amerindian and Mestizo peoples, the Atlantic Slave Trade and slavery. Latin American and Caribbean anthropological tradition is eccentric in terms of the diversity of societies it explores, their cultural, economic, political and religious aspects of life within a very large and diverse region.
